Burn the ships.

After graduating college in 2011 and a short return home to Tampa FL, I felt the growing urge and need for some first-hand knowledge and adventure, where opportunities for wisdom are found in unexpected places.
A few bags loaded down with camera equipment, a snowboard, some winter clothes, $1,000 cash, and a 1-way ticket to destination unknown seemed to be the right concoction for the adventure of a lifetime. Twelve hours into my journey I landed at Logan International Airport in Billings, Montana, without a solid plan or any knowledge of the area. I started to talk to anyone who looked as if they could point me in the 'correct' direction. A security guard who knew of a woman who delivers lost bags told me to wait out back. She was on her way to deliver luggage to Red Lodge, a small town with a flavorful past that is currently home to Red Lodge Mountain and the Beartooth Pass.  This place sounded similar to the town of Banner Elk, NC, where four incredible years of college flew by. I was stoked for what was to come.
As the city life of Billings left my sight, the mountainous wonder of Big Sky Country consumed me.  Red Lodge is a scene straight out of a modern western movie; old historic brick buildings, hotrods and Harleys lined the street.  Almost every business on Broadway seemed that it may have once been frequented by outlaws and gunslingers.
Within hours I secured a place to live, and a job that started within days; what better way to get to know the locals and community than to work in the service industry.  All of my current needs had been met and it was finally time to embrace the adventure and take advantage of what opportunities came my way with an attitude of "can do", I've got nothing to lose.

Life is the journey.
